Who We Are

Who we are

The Darfur Network for Human Rights (DNHR) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) that works to promote and protect human rights and fundamental liberties in Darfur and other areas of Sudan. We do this by monitoring and documenting human rights violations, providing legal assistance to victims, and advocating for change with the Sudanese government and international community.

We believe that all people have the right to live in peace and security, free from fear of violence or discrimination. We are committed to working with all stakeholders to ensure that the human rights of all Sudanese people are respected and protected.

Here are some of the specific ways in which we work to promote and protect human rights in Darfur and Sudan:

  • We monitor and document human rights violations, including killings, arbitrary arrests, torture, and sexual violence.
  • We provide legal assistance to victims of human rights abuses, including helping them to file complaints with the Sudanese government and the International Criminal Court.
  • We advocate for change with the Sudanese government and the international community. We call on the Sudanese government to investigate and prosecute human rights abuses, and we urge the international community to provide support to the Sudanese people.

We believe that everyone has the right to live in peace and security, free from fear of violence or discrimination. We are committed to working with all stakeholders to ensure that the human rights of all Sudanese people are respected and protected.

Our Mission & Vision.

Support Peace building and Transitional Justice

We Darfur Network for Human Rights (DNHR) provide the following Support in peacebuilding in Sudan

Mediation Support

Mediation is vital in ensuring different sides of a conflict arrive at an agreement. We improve mediation processes by providing support and advice to mediators and peace negotiations.
In order to create peace, We DNHR help to ensure the parties involved in the conflict need to agree on how to end the fighting and move forwards. In approach of work we involve more the populations at grassroots to ensure equality in power in making negotiations

Dialogue

Dialogue is an essential part of addressing conflict and building peace. We create opportunities for divided groups such as farmers and Nomads to come together, discuss the issues affecting them and develop solutions.

Engaging armed groups

Talking with armed groups is often an essential part of ending violent conflict. We engage with armed groups to build peace and provide guidance for doing so to others through engaging in alternatives of solving problems rather using arms and also provide capacity building in hand zone skills.
