Mariam, a resident of Abu Shouk camp for IDPs and the Abu Souk Al Hilla neighborhood in El Fasher, North Darfur, provides a harrowing testimony of being forcibly transferred to the Darbat area east of Jebel Marra.
This displacement was necessitated by intense artillery shelling conducted by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The RSF targeted civilian homes, hospitals, and medical facilities, leading to widespread destruction and endangering the lives of countless residents.

“I, Mariam, witnessed the terrifying artillery shelling by the Rapid Support Forces in our neighborhood. The shells rained down without mercy, targeting not just our homes but also hospitals and medical facilities.
The explosions were deafening, and the fear was overwhelming. We had no choice but to flee for our lives. Now, I find myself in the Darbat area, far from the place I once called home. The trauma of that day will stay with me forever, but I am determined to survive and rebuild despite these hardships.”
