Access to healthcare is a fundamental human right. Yet, currently, children in #IDPs in #Sudan are deprived of such basic needs, while child and maternal malnutrition are increasing at an unprecedented rate. The levels of acute food insecurity require urgent and immediate assistance.
Born during or before the war that broke out on April 15th, millions of children under the age of five, especially in the Darfur region and even in refugee camps, are suffering from malnutrition due to the scarcity of food, clean water, and proper healthcare. It is their human right to have access to all of these essentials without question. Denying access to these basic human needs is a #genocide.
To alleviate the repercussions of this devastating conflict between the RSF and SAF, and to address the critical medical and nutritional needs of the vulnerable children and Sudanese civilians in dire need, the following actions must be taken immediately:
- Stop the War Criminals: The perpetrators of these atrocities must be held accountable and stopped to prevent further suffering.
- Open Humanitarian Corridors: Safe and secure pathways must be established to allow humanitarian aid to reach those in need.
- Allow Local and International Organizations to Operate: Humanitarian organizations must be given full access to deliver much-needed relief to the affected populations.
Together, we must stand for justice and support the people of Sudan in this critical time.
