The state of Al Gazira, especially the eastern Areas, including Tambul and other areas, is experiencing serious security disturbances, including bombings by the Sudanese army’s warplanes, attacks, artillery shelling, and looting of property by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
On Sunday, 20 October 2024, the Sudanese army warplanes bombed the Sheikh Al-Geili Mosque and its surroundings in the Western Emtedad neighborhood in Madani, Gezira State, with barrel bombs after the evening prayer and more than 31 citizens, including children and women, were martyred.
On Monday, 21/10/2024, the RSF invaded eastern Al Jazeera in huge numbers and committed the most serious massacres in Al Gazira State since the RSF took control of the state in Tambul city, Rifa’a city, Al Junaid Al Hilla village, Al Bwaida village, Al Aziba village, Al Sharafa village, and several other villages, killing dozens and wounding several others. The RSF also broke into houses, looted them, and stole property in revenge campaigns for the fact that one of its commanders joined the Sudanese army, Commander Abu Aqlaa Kaikal, commander of the RSF in Gezira state and former commander of the Northern Shield forces on 20/10/2024, who hails from those areas that were subjected to these violations. These campaigns caused the forced displacement of the citizens of the areas that were subjected to these attacks, as many residents left their homes for neighboring villages and the clashes continued from this morning 22/10/2024 until the date of writing the report.
The Darfur Network for Human Rights (DNHR) will follow up on the situation and provide the necessary information to keep you updated.
The organization also appeals to the two parties to the conflict in Sudan to control the voice of reason return to the negotiating table and stop the violations against citizens in Sudan, the network also appeals to the UN Security Council and the United Nations to intervene urgently to provide the necessary protection for civilians who continue to be subjected to various types of human rights violations.
