Fifteen trucks delivering humanitarian food aid from the World Food Programme (WFP) have arrived in Central and North Darfur:

On November 16, 2024. In Central and North Darfur, 15 Humanitarian Food Aid Trucks from the World Food Programme (WFP). A convoy launched from Farshala (Chad) passed through multiple areas in Sudan, including El Geneina (West Darfur), Zalingei (Central Darfur) , (Nertiti , Golo , Rokoro, and also Tawila , Otash IDP Camp,

Upon arrival, Professor Jamal Ahmed, a representative of the World Food Programme (WFP), announced that the convoy would stop for the night in Nertiti. The convoy is scheduled to resume its journey at 9:00 AM the next day, heading towards camps in North Darfur (El Fasher) to provide much-needed humanitarian aid to displaced residents of Zamzam Camp.

Importance of the Convoy, they Reaching Displaced Populations including: The Tawila district, located 64 kilometres west of El Fasher, has seen a significant influx of displaced people fleeing violence in North Darfur ,and the Tawila is under the control of the Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM) led by Abdul Wahid Muhammad Ahmed Al-Nur.

 Settlement of Displaced People:

Some displaced people have settled in Tawila, while others continue to move towards Jebel Marra, seeking refuge in areas such as: (Golo, Rokoro, Nertiti, and Sortoni Camp.

The Critical Role of WFP for the assistance provided by the WFP is part of its ongoing efforts to support displaced populations suffering from dire humanitarian conditions due to ongoing conflict in the Darfur region.

Call for International and Local Coordination:

This crisis highlights the urgent need for strengthened cooperation between international organizations and local entities to address the escalating humanitarian situation in Darfur.
