The RSF drone wave flies over the Kalma camp for IDPs in South Darfur, western Sudan:

On 28 November 2024, eyewitnesses from the Kalma Internal Displacement People (IDP) Camp in South Darfur reported to the Darfur Network for Human Rights (DNHR) that, at approximately 01:30 am, war drones linked to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) flew over the camp.

The drones approached from the northwest side, passing through Centers 8, 7, 4, and 2, continuing to Belil, South Darfur, before returning along the same path. This activity caused significant fear and distress among the IDPs, who were alarmed and unaware of the reasons behind these flights.

DNHR urgently calls on the RSF to cease this behavior immediately. IDP camps are protected civilian spaces, not military targets, and any actions jeopardizing their safety are in violation of international humanitarian law.

DNHR further urges international bodies and humanitarian organizations to apply pressure on the RSF to respect the rights and safety of internally displaced persons and to ensure compliance with international legal standards.

Immediate action is necessary to prevent serious consequences and protect the vulnerable residents of Kalma Camp.
