The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Nyala, South Darfur, have released a video threatening imminent attacks on internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Kalma and Salam Camps. This alarming situation poses a grave danger to these camps, which shelter over ten thousand displaced individuals from across the Darfur region.
Kalma Camp, established two decades ago by the UN as a safe haven for those fleeing violence, now faces the risk of targeted aggression. These threats, combined with existing humanitarian challenges, further endanger the displaced population, who are already suffering from severe shortages of food, water, and medical care.
The General Administration of Kalma Camp has refuted RSF claims that Sudanese army aircraft dropped weapons inside the camp, emphasizing that it only shelters displaced civilians and contains no military supplies. This false accusation is part of a broader pattern of threats and violence against IDPs in Darfur.

There are concerns that the RSF may be preparing to commit serious human rights violations and another genocide, similar to the atrocities carried out at Zamzam Camp in North Darfur and in West Darfur.
We urgently call on the international community to intervene and prevent further bloodshed. It is crucial to hold the responsible parties accountable and to protect the safety, dignity, and rights of vulnerable populations in Darfur.
Additionally, we appeal to the RSF to cease hate speech and incitement against IDPs across all camps in Darfur. Such actions only deepen the suffering of displaced communities, who rely on these camps as their last refuge amidst ongoing conflict.
Immediate and decisive action is needed to avert another humanitarian tragedy.
