Extrajudicial Killing Incident in Bendesi, Central Darfur, Sudan

On the evening of Monday, September 30, 2025, around 4:00 PM, in Bendesi locality, Central Darfur, Zalingei, displaced resident Issa Adam Al-Din (53 years old) was killed. He lived in Bendesi with his two wives and 13 children.

Issa was returning from his farm, located a few kilometers north of Bendesi, when two masked men on a motorcycle, dressed in Rapid Support Forces (RSF) uniforms, stopped him. The assailants demanded his phone, but he did not have one with him at the time. One of them then fired two shots, causing severe injuries. He was rushed to Bendesi Hospital but died the following morning from his wounds.

The area has been witnessing an increase in armed robberies, particularly along the roads connecting Bendesi to neighboring farms and the road leading to Makjeri locality. The assailants were masked, making identification difficult. Reports of threats to farmers and theft of their property have also risen. According to two local observers, most incidents occur in the evening, pointing to organized criminal activity.

This killing has caused great shock within the local community. The victim was a well-known figure, and his death has instilled fear among farmers, many of whom now avoid going to their farms in the evenings. The continuation of such incidents threatens both agricultural stability and livelihoods in Bendesi and surrounding areas.
