March 6, 2025 – North Darfur
The humanitarian crisis in Zamzam IDP Camp has reached a critical level as escalating attacks by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and allied militias leave thousands of displaced people without food, water, or medical aid.
In recent days, the RSF and allied militias launched a large-scale assault on 50 villages in Dar Al-Salam locality, south and southeast of El Fasher. These attacks resulted in mass killings, mass displacement, and roadblocks preventing essential food supplies from reaching civilians.
A Suffocating Siege: No Escape, No Aid
The situation continues to worsen as armed militias tighten their grip on Zamzam Camp, blocking all roads and preventing humanitarian organizations from delivering emergency relief. As a result, the entire camp is cut off from vital supplies, pushing thousands to the brink of starvation.
Meanwhile, displaced persons keep arriving under dire conditions. Many have fled massacres with nothing but the clothes on their backs. They now find themselves trapped in a camp that can no longer sustain them.
The Human Cost of Blocked Aid
- No food or clean water: Families go days without meals as food supplies dwindle.
- No medical assistance: Without access to healthcare, the wounded and sick suffer without treatment.
- No way out: The siege prevents civilians from escaping to safer areas.
This is not just a humanitarian emergency—it is a deliberate act of war targeting civilians.
A Crisis That Demands Urgent Action
📢 The world must act before it is too late.
We call for:
✔️ Immediate lifting of the siege on Zamzam Camp.
✔️ Unhindered humanitarian access to deliver food, water, and medical assistance.
✔️ Accountability for those using starvation and violence as weapons of war.
The world cannot turn away as thousands suffer under siege. Every moment of inaction costs lives.
