“Daily Arrivals of Sudanese Refugees Continue at Wedwil Camp.
The Darfur Network for Human Rights is deeply concerned about the ongoing daily arrivals of Sudanese refugees at Wedwil Camp in Northern Bahr el Ghazal, South Sudan, caused by the continuing conflicts between the RSF and the SAF in Sudan.
As of June 10, 2025, Wedwil Refugee Camp has been receiving waves of new arrivals fleeing conflict zones in Sudan, particularly from the capital Khartoum, the city of Omdurman, and the Darfur region, as the security and humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate.
On Monday, June 9, 2025, a total of 40 families arrived at the camp from Khartoum and Omdurman. On the morning of Tuesday, June 10, 2025, an additional 10 families arrived from the same areas after traveling via Malakan.

The DNHR field office received a new arrival.
Preliminary information from New Sudanese Arrivals indicates that most of the newly arrived families are experiencing challenging humanitarian conditions, with a significant number of women and children. These families lack adequate shelter, food, clean drinking water, and access to basic healthcare services.
Recommendations:
- Urgent delivery of emergency assistance, including food supplies, tents, and shelter materials.
- Enhanced coordination among humanitarian organizations operating in the area to ensure an effective response to the needs of the new arrivals.
- Support for rapid registration and needs assessment efforts to guide targeted interventions.
Notes:
A continued influx of refugees is expected in the coming days, which will further strain the camp’s already limited infrastructure and humanitarian resources.
