The trial opening today has brought hope for millions of survivors in Darfur.

The 5th of April, 2022, is a historic day for the Millions of victims that were harmed by the leader of the Janjaweed militia leader Ali Mohammad Ali Abd-Al-Rahman (Kushayb) crimes more than 18 years ago, waiting for peace and justice to them.

Long-awaited chance for the victims and communities, the Janjaweed terrorized to see an alleged leader face justice. The trial is also the first by the ICC on crimes committed by state forces and allied militias in Darfur.

DNMD, trust that one day will come very soon and will see all those who have committed crimes against humanity can still face justice.

Darfur Network for Monitoring and Documentation DNMD hopes that his trial will serve as a turning point for arresting others who have committed the same crimes against the people of Darfur, west Sudan. Because the victims of Darfur have been waiting to achieve justice since the issues ICC, now the time has come for justice for them and also to prevent any genocide of civilians in Darfur, Sudan.
